Stress and Hypertension!!!

Hypertension

Hypertension is caused by high blood pressure which is the measure of the force of blood pushing against blood vessel walls. The heart pumps blood into the arteries (blood vessels), which carry the blood throughout the body. Hypertension is dangerous because it makes the heart work harder to pump blood to the body and contributes to hardening of the arteries. The importance of treating this “silent killer” lies in its associated risk to cardiovascular disease, the number one cause of death. To prevent the onset of Hypertension is simple with a few diet and lifestyle changes.

Stress and Hypertension!!!

Stress can cause hypertension through repeated blood pressure elevations. Your body produces a surge of hormones when you’re in a stressful situation. These hormones temporarily increase your blood pressure by causing your heart to beat faster and your blood  vessels to narrow. Reducing stress might not directly lower blood pressure over the long term, using strategies to manage your stress can improve your health in other ways.

Suggestion:Meditation, exercise, enough sleep, relaxation, avoid stressful/emotional eating, eat and drink sensibly. Thrive on citrus fruits like oranges, lime which helps to reduce stress.
